As the official Delia Derbyshire Day Lead Commissioned Artist 2019, Bishi has composed and recorded a new EP, The Telescope Eye. Additionally, the EP, co-produced with Richard Norris, celebrates 50 years since the release of groundbreaking album An Electric Storm.

The Telescope Eye was written for voice looper, mi.mu gloves, ROLI & electric sitar. It’s famously known that no synthesisers were used during the making of ‘An Electric Storm.’ Bishi is a 21st Century artist, with the world of sound at our fingertips. So she chose to write using a wide expanse of technology, as a celebration of how far we’ve come. Stream & Download it here.

Its recent premiere in Manchester and at The British Library in London incorporated vocals, sitar, and electronics with live interaction using Mi-Mu gloves. See the video below.

Delia Derbyshire was an inspirational musician and composer. Her pioneering work with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop during the 1960s included creating the electronic arrangement of the infamous Doctor Who theme tune.
