The invincible multi-instrumentalist, producer and overall power house, Bishi blew everyone away with her stunning feature in Vogue India, showcasing and celebrating her seriously strong character, beauty, power and confidence.
As if that wasn’t enough she became the lead commissioned artist for Delia Derbyshire Day 2019, and her platform WITCiH joined the BFI ‘Woman with a movie camera summit’ – The centrepiece event dedicated to women in film.
Bishi is also currently preparing for her AV show launch for ‘Let My Country Awake’, her new electronic classical album composed for voice looper, sitar & electronics, which explores immigrant identity, with live coded visuals by Output Arts.
The album, co-produced with composer Jeff Cook, was originally commissioned by National Sawdust, New York. The title, ‘Let My Country Awake,’ is a quote from the Nobel prize winning poet Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘Where The Mind Is Without Fear,’ written before India’s independence. It represents Tagore’s vision of a new and awakened India. The album is part inspired by the essay collection, ‘The Good Immigrant,’ edited by Nikesh Shukla, who’s voice features along with writers Darren Chetty & Salena Godden.
